WHAT IT IS
Power Where You Need It Most
Media blasting, also known as glass-bead blasting, fires an ultra-fine glass media at high pressure through our 20A–100L blast pot to strip thick underseal, stubborn coatings and heavier corrosion from a vehicle's underside. It's a more aggressive process than dry ice blasting, giving it the extra cutting power needed when years of built-up grime and failed coatings simply won't shift.
We most commonly use true glass-bead media rather than traditional coarse sand, since it's far gentler on the metal underneath while still tough enough to strip a surface back to bare metal, ready for rust treatment, priming and long-term protective coatings.
HOW IT WORKS
Stripped Back, Properly
01
Media Loaded
Ultra-fine glass media is loaded into our blast pot and pressurised for controlled delivery.
02
High-Pressure Blast
The media is fired at the surface, cutting through thick coatings and corrosion fast.
03
Surface Stripped
Old underseal, paint and rust are removed back to clean, stable metal.
04
Ready To Treat
The stripped surface is left prepped for rust treatment and coating.
WHEN WE USE IT
Restoring True Factory Bare Metal
Vehicles with thick, failing underseal that dry ice blasting can't fully shift
Restoration projects needing a full strip back to bare metal
Preparing surfaces for epoxy primer and long-term rust proofing
Heavier corrosion and scale on chassis rails, subframes and box sections
Removing old paint or stubborn factory coatings before refinishing
Classic and project cars where years of neglect need undoing properly
